Combining the extensive knowledge and training of IT systems professionals and years of experience working in schools, our technicians are equipped to solve any and all IT problems that arise. We also value communication between us and our clients, so our staff will always make sure you understand the problems and solutions we work through. At the end of every day on the job we send thorough reports to maintain a record and communication link between us and your school.

Network Monitoring and Maintenance

Networks in schools can be large and complex, with servers, switches, cabling and wireless access points to worry about. We can use tools to monitor what’s going on with every part of the system, from the domain controller to the endpoints, and the devices that connect to them. By the time you notice things go wrong, we already know about it and are working hard to fix it. The goal is always to minimise impact on teachers and students to facilitate an easy and uninterrupted learning experience.

Equipment Purchase Consulting

We provide consulting and support for computers, be they school purchased or under Bring Your Own Device programs. With so many options on the market, it helps to have people who can help you choose the best devices to support learning. We will help you get the right equipment in all areas of IT so you don’t waste time or money on sub-par solutions.

Training

We understand schools are there for their students, so in all aspects of our support we prioritise their learning. We work to support STEM programs to help set up the next generation to be able to utilise technology to its full extent.

Services we support

Real Bytes supports the following tools and services for you to use in your school. We provide assistance with sourcing, setup, onboarding, maintenance and training, and work hard to it easy for you to utilise the full benefit that these services can provide.

Mobile Device Management

When you have a fleet of iPads at your school, it can be a pain to round them all up to plug in and install updates and change settings and apps manually. Real Bytes can help by implementing a Mobile Device Management system, or MDM to take control of all of your iPads. The benefits that come from using a system like this include installing apps, changing settings and controlling individual iPads, all completely remotely. We can track devices, lock them and monitor every one at all times. That means the iPads can stay in the classroom and keep being used while we make any changes needed behind the scenes, reducing downtime and keeping the devices in the hands of the students, where they belong.

Apple Devices

We can help you purchase and manage a fleet of iPads in your school for both teachers and students. This can allow for remote monitoring, app installation and removal, settings and restriction modifications, and location tracking of every iPad in the school. We also can remotely manage Mac computers, so if you have a few Macbooks, or a whole fleet of Apple computers, we have you covered.

Windows Devices

Using extensive experience with the Windows Server and Active Directory, our team can support thousands of devices ranging from servers and domain controllers to computers for teachers and students.

Remote policy changes, installation or removal of app packages and antivirus monitoring are just some of the things we can do with remote management.

Real Bytes are a reseller and supporter of Meraki Systems Manager and JamfSchool, and have a wealth of experience in supporting other MDMs such as Lightspeed, Microsoft Intune and Apple School Manager and Configurator.

Papercut Printing System

Schools can go through a lot of printing, so using slow and unreliable machines is not fun or practical. The solution is to use a system like Papercut. Implementing one or more powerful multi function devices across your campus and connecting them all to a virtual print queue can take away a lot of the common headaches involved with the old way of using printers. Low on toner? Some models of MFD can automatically order you more toner to arrive right on time to replace it. Need to enable or disable printing for specific people? With Papercut accounts it’s easy. Plus, Real Bytes can connect the system to your school’s active directory, so everyone at your school already has an account set up for them.

The benefits of a virtual print queue

Say goodbye to the annoyance of waiting for ages for a print job to come out before realising you sent it to the wrong machine. With Papercut’s virtual printing queue, a staff member can send a print job to a virtual printer the same way they would to a normal one, and then go to any MFD in the school and release it. Too many people waiting in line for one of the printers? No problem, just go to the next printer. The queue can hold jobs for as long as you like, so you don’t have to worry about sensitive documents sitting at the printer while you make your way there. They only release when the staff member logs in.

Extra features

With the admin control panel, you can make different types of printing incur different charges for users. Users will be able to see their quota (that you can modify and set any time) on their computers so they know what they’re up to. We can even make multiple queues with settings on them so that some people can print in colour, greyscale or with a watermark on the page by default. No more asking the question, “Who printed this?”

Plus, we can change settings and make the printers work exactly how we need for groups, buildings and even individual users – all from Papercut.

AB Tutor Device Monitoring and Management System

When you need to monitor students in your classroom, there are few more versatile and powerful tools than AB Tutor. From any computer, a staff member can view a set range of student devices while the students are logged on. They can monitor their screens, send commands and messages, and apply policies to foster and manage learning easily.

Onboarding

Getting AB Tutor set up in your school requires getting the endpoint installed on every computer that needs to be monitored. A big task, but one that Real Bytes can take care of. With extensive experience in many schools using the software, we know how it is often used and can give advice and suggestions for ways to take full advantage of the capabilities it provides.

Benefits

The control that the program allows for can prove to be invaluable. When students aren’t paying attention and start using their computers for things other than learning, a teacher can see it happen in real time, and put a stop to it straight away. Keyword logging can be used as well to notify the school about inappropriate words being used.

Schools often have existing monitoring solutions and networking blocks in place, but Ab Tutor can grant you much greater control over your devices, and put device and student leaning management in your hands.
